Happy Labor Day! Great energy in the gym from the 3:30 class, you guys left the place smoldering! Anthony bettered his previous Annie by 6 minutes! Everybody else met her for the first time. And once again we realized that double unders are a crux to the vast majority and we need practice, as a whole. I know they don’t seem very significant, but they are a staple in many WODS and they bring high value to your skill set. They develop coordination, accuracy, and metabolic conditioning (and leave awesome welts when you miss). Besides, part of our mission is to “Redefine your limits” and if double unders are difficult, don’t be afraid to face and overcome a weakness. It’s imperative in Life to be able to face a challenge and work diligently developing the skill to overcome said challenge. I know it’s a stretch using a simple jump rope exercise for a metaphor about Life, but everything you do in Life counts toward the Big Picture. Whether it’s a simple obstacle cleared, or a big hurdle leaped, it’s added to your skill set, your “tool bag”, if you will, to keep you moving along your path. Ok that’s enough…just practice your dang double unders!
P.S. Big High Five’s go out to Matt and Shawn for doing the Mt. Baldy Run to the Top Race today. Awesome work guys!
